New online sales site – Buy stunning crafts from remote rural locations and change lives

Transrural Trust is delighted to announce the launch of their online sales site www.shopattransrural.org. On this site you can purchase selected lightweight items from Transrural’s various livelihood projects, including nettle fibre scarves from Nepal, beautiful hand-painted eggs from Romania, and Batik scarves and fish scale jewellery from Thailand. In an attempt to increase sales, free delivery is being offered on all UK deliveries.

The aim of the site is to complement local marketing efforts for the projects by making selected items available internationally. All profits go directly back into projects and contribute towards the goal of self-sufficiency for these family-scale enterprises.

Trevor Lucey, Director said: “It really feels like we’re making significant progress by launching this site and enabling these wonderful crafts to reach audiences that may not have otherwise come across them. These crafts make wonderful gifts and we have tried to make the whole buying experience as easy as possible and have published an FAQ on the site for any queries people may have.”
